2010 Lesson Policy
I have updated this policy for the New Year, and have put all of the changes in bold type for your convenience. Please let me know if you have any questions... I will be happy to answer them!
1. Fees: The fees paid are for four lessons per month. The lessons are paid monthly in advance, not per lesson. If it works out that there are five lessons in a given month, I will teach you or your child on the 5th week, and it will be considered a bonus lesson. These “bonus” lessons will be used as make-up lessons in case a lesson is missed. I will issue you an invoice at the first lesson of the month, and payment is due by the second lesson of the month. If payment is made late, there will be a $10.00 late fee due upon payment of lesson fee. If you plan to be gone for most of a month, it is policy to pay for that month in advance, to reserve your spot. If for some reason you or your child decides to take a break from lessons and then resume, there will be a $35 re-enrollment fee per student.
2. Rates: I teach at the Common Space on N. Reynolds Rd, and also at student’s homes in the Sylvania/Ottawa Hills area. Lessons at the Common Space are $72/month for (4) half hour lessons, and $130/month for (4) 1 hour lessons. Lessons at your home start at $95/month for (4) half hour lessons and $170/month for (4) 1 hour lessons. This service can work out very well for busy families who have two or three kids that would like to take lessons. If you start lessons in the middle of a month, that month will be prorated.
3. Missed Lessons: You are eligible for a make-up lesson if you talk to me 48 hours in advance about missing a lesson. If you just don’t show up, it will be considered taught and not eligible for a make-up. In case of emergencies, exceptions will be made. If you would like to receive your make-up lesson, please call me and I will do my best to schedule it. Make-up lessons must be made up within 60 days of the missed lesson, or they are counted as taken! It is very important to maintain a regular schedule while studying music.
4. Holidays: Please see the list of National holidays below. Lessons that fall on these days will NOT be made up as your bill will either be prorated for that month, or the already taken “bonus” lessons will be used to make up for the missed lesson. Any weather related cancelling WILL need to be made up.

Finally, we have a great opportunity to study music together. Please do your part by being involved and practicing on a regular basis. Together, we can grow musically, personally, and perhaps achieve things others only dream of!
